R. A. True was the manager of Mueller Grain and early sunflower promoter in Goodland, Kansas. This elevator was a significant buyer of sunflower in the early phase of the crop's introduction in the High Plains. He assisted in organizing the High Plains Committee of the National Sunflower Association and chaired that committee for many years. R.A. coined the term 'Dog and Pony Show' which described the Committee's grower meetings that were held in a whirlwind time frame all across the High Plains States.
