This revision of North Dakota sunflower nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) recommendations is based on general productivity history and not a yield prediction model. The N and P recommendations are based on both documented yield responses to each and economic analysis.

High Plains Sunflower Production Handbook
This handbook is produced by Colorado State University, Kansas State University, University of Nebraska, University of Wyoming, and USDA ARS Central Great Plains Research Station. The handbook covers basic sunflower production and protection practices, emphasizing the growing conditions and requirements within the Western High Plains region. The reader will also find information about hybrid selection and production practices, insects, diseases, and other related topics.

Manitoba Sunflower Production Guide
The Sunflower Production Guide was produced by Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives, along with the Manitoba Crop Alliance. This glove compartment-sized guide provides information on field selection, seeding rates, depths, fertilizer recommendations and sunflower harvesting tips.

Also featured in the guide is full-color photos of sunflower pests to aid in identifying insects and diseases. The 64-page hard copy publication is available by phone, 204-745-6661, and through the NSAC (www.mbcropalliance.ca). Link to production information online via the link below.
