New Hybrids for 2025

        Editor’s Note: The following listings provide brief descriptions of new sunflower hybrids available for planting in 2025. Those companies with new hybrids do, of course, have additional varieties for the market as well.
        Several sunflower seed suppliers indicated they will not be introducing any new hybrids for 2025. Their names and websites are listed below.

AgVenture
        • AF3664HE – This new hybrid is an early to mid-maturity, high-yielding, disease-tolerant Express®Sun variety adapted to North and South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas. It is positioned for low or high plant population areas. It has good test weight and very solid oil content; also, very good stalks and roots, with a solid disease package.

Nuseed
        • Nuseed announces the introduction of N4H205 E, an early maturing, Express®Sun, high-oleic hybrid with genetic resistance to all known races of downy mildew. N4H205 E has lightning fast drydown, excellent stalk and root strength. Its performance on yield and oil are tough to beat.

Proseed
        • 2534 E – This is an SU-tolerant high- oleic hybrid with excellent oil and high yield capabilities. This hybrid has excellent plant health and advanced DMR. It is a mid-season hybrid that would need to be planted first for our Canadian border farmers, but it also fits great from the Highway 2 corridor and south into South Dakota.
        • E-2446 E – Another SU-tolerant and high-oleic hybrid with awesome oil content and yield. This mid-/late-season hybrid offers great standability and plant health. It works great from that Highway 2 corridor and south, down into South Dakota.
