Sunflower Planting Progress May 24, 2009
5/26/2009

Sunflower planting was halted in much of the northern region over the Memorial Day weekend with rains in many areas. For the first time in many years, there is no sunflower production region, from the Canadian border to Texas, which is rated as ‘dry’ by the drought index. Temperatures in the northern region have been below normal.
